The Gallup-Healthways Well-Being Index regularly gauges the overall health and wellbeing of people around the country by looking at six factors: life evaluation, emotional health, work environment, physical health, healthy behaviors, and access to basic necessities. Gallup-Healthways just released the final results for 2011 and these 10 metropolitan areas topped the list of happy, healthy cities.
Among metropolitan areas with 1 million or more residents, San Jose-Sunnyvale-Santa Clara residents reported the highest wellbeing. 96% of residents agreed with the statement that the area offers “safe places to exercise.”
