Indoor air is often more polluted than the air outside, especially when the weather cools and we leave the windows closed. But before you buy a pricey air purifier, consider adding a few houseplants instead. I was reminded by this recent New York Times article that certain houseplants have been found, by NASA no less, to have air purifying superpowers.
