You're so vain…Yes, that's you I'm talking about if you're a man at midlife who's thinking you might need a little professional help to keep looking young. According to a report released yesterday by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, men underwent more than 1.1 million cosmetic procedures in 2010, up 2 percent over 2009 despite the recession.

Some procedures were especially popular, the report said. Facelifts for men were up 14 percent and male liposuction rose 7 percent.

Here are the fastest-growing male procedures by percentage increase, according to the report:

1.     Facelift – 14 percent

2.     Ear surgery – 11 percent

3.     Soft tissue fillers –10 percent

4.     Botox – 9 percent

5.     Liposuction – 7 percent

6.     Male breast reduction – 6 percent

7.     Eyelid surgery – 4 percent

8.     Dermabrasion – 4 percent

9.     Laser hair removal – 4 percent

10.Laser treatment of leg veins – 4 percent

Surgeons say much of this growth is fueled by baby boomers who are nearing retirement but still want to look young. The most popular surgical procedures in this group are nose reshaping and eyelid surgery, followed by liposuction, breast reduction and hair transplantation.  Popular minimally invasive procedures include botox, laser hair removal and microdermabrasion.
